We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Materials Supervisor! This role is based in our Extrusion plant in Mississauga, Ontario and reports to the Production Manager.

Job Summary
As Materials Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the Materials Team. They will schedule work, provide training & support to personnel and work to improve safety, quality and productivity.
Principal Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, assign and supervise the work of the Materials Team including Blending, Grinding and Shipping/Receiving departments
- Manage the regrind process, raw materials inventory and organization including inter-plant transfers, inbound and outbound
- Monitor incoming raw materials, packaging, and other production supplies to ensure required material is available for Production use, coordinating purchasing needs with corporate procurement group as needed
- Manage month end and year end raw material, packaging, and dunnage inventory and report variances to the Production Manager
- Proactively manage all on-site railway activities for resin receiving and release of empty railcars
- Evaluate and continuously improve material handling and flow throughout the plant to maximize efficiency and reduce redundant work and waste
- Ensure all Company policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are adhered to, performing Gemba walks and completing daily safety interactions
- Maintain employees’ time related to the Attendance and Lateness Policy
- Attend scheduled departmental and shift meetings to obtain and deliver necessary information and training, and follow up on actions resulting from these meetings
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of High School, Post-Secondary education is an asset
- 5+ years experience in material planning, logistics and/or inventory management within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Prior experience in a Supervisory capacity is preferrable
- Strong computer skills, including experience with ERP systems
- Knowledge of PVC Extrusion is very beneficial
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to motivate people
