We are looking for an Accountant, based in Barcelona.

The job holder is a member of the UK/IE European Financial Accounting team in the Air Products Shared Service Center in Cornella/Spain and the job holder is, in cooperation with the Team leader, responsible for all key compliance deadlines of the Air Products legal entities in UK/IE.   

As an Accountant, you will do:

• Timely and accurate data preparation on a local GAAP basis for external reporting to Tax Authorities, Auditors, Statistical Office. Additionally, the job holder needs to work with the Team leader on the timely monthly reporting for US GAAP in accordance with the Company’s Month-end Closing schedule.

• The preparation of the local GAAP Statutory Accounts for the Air Products legal entities in UK/IE in a timely manner which includes the preparation of working papers and related schedules for the Statutory year-end audit process of the Statutory Financial statements with the objective to obtain a clean sign-off audit opinion by the Statutory year-end auditors.

• The preparation of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis in line with company policy. If the preparation of the account reconciliations requires the cooperation with peer groups and/or with other functional areas, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and filed correctly.

• Under supervision of the Team leader the job holder needs to set own priorities and work plan within the overall framework of the Finance accounting group and corporate deadlines.

You will have:

• University degree in Financial Accounting or related subject.

• Working experience of 3-5 years in the preparation of annual accounts, in accordance with FRS102/IFRS.

• Experience with financial statement preparation.

• Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a diverse, multi-disciplinary international team.

Nice to have's

• US GAAP knowledge and experience in UK/IE GAAP is an advantage.

• Working with SAP is considered an advantage.

• Professional Accounting Qualification in ACCA/ACA/CIMA desirable.
