THE ROLE:

The Expert Material Handler will be responsible for handling materials required for production, line setup, preparation and crating in the assembly departmentThis multi-skilled Material Handler is independent and self-reliant.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality

  • Reads production schedule customer order work order shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved gathered or distributed.

  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size type style color or product code.

  • Fills requisitions work orders or requests for materials or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.

  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.

  • Navigate SAP material / inventory modules (confirming available stock issued & confirming TO's)

  • Marks materials with identifying information.

  • Opens bales crates and other containers.

  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.

  • Uses computer to enter records.

  • Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items.

  • Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.

  • Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.

  • Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection.

  • Complies with environmental regulations when using dispensing or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.

  • May perform other duties as required.

  • Contributes to division results and performance

  • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience including material handling

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Candidate must able to communicate effectively to team members and management staff

  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner

  • Able to work independently and problem solve

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is a combination of hot and cold with exposure to elements such as: noise, dust, and brightly lit areas and the physical demands may include but not limited to regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Salary range:

$40,300.00 - $64,500.00
