What will you do in this role?

As a Satellite Licensing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in securing and maintaining the necessary licenses for our satellite operations across various regions. You will be responsible for submitting satellite license applications to national regulatory authorities, managing ITU filings, coordinating licensing activities with ground station providers, and ensuring our satellite operations comply with international regulations and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit satellite license applications to national and international regulatory bodies, including the ITU (International Telecommunication Union).
  • Coordinate ground station licensing with ground station providers.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with ITU filings for frequency spectrum and orbital slot coordination for satellite operations.
  • Track and maintain licenses, permits, and other regulatory documents for satellite systems and ground stations.
  • Liaise with national telecommunications regulatory authorities and international organizations to resolve any regulatory issues or disputes.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory environments and advise the company on necessary adjustments to remain in compliance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, to ensure successful satellite deployments.

Requirements

What will you need to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Law, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience in telecommunications licensing, regulatory affairs, or a related field in the telecommunications industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team-working and communication skills in English (knowledge of Finnish language is a plus, but not required). 
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Experience in regulatory and operational aspects of satellite licensing.
  • Familiarity with ITU regulations, radio frequency allocations and coordination, and spectrum management.
  • Knowledge of national and international satellite regulatory frameworks and licensing processes.
  • Strong understanding of the satellite industry, including satellite technology, orbital slots, and communication systems.

  • Base salary range for this position is 5000 - 6000 € per month (Gross) / 18000-21000 PLN per month (Gross) contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually.
