As the Senior Software Engineer for Scout Motor’s digital products on the Servicing & Repairs team, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our software products, from concept to deployment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement scalable and robust solutions that meet our customers' needs and exceed their expectations. Some of the key products as part of digital portfolio are – mobile and desktop applications, vehicle connectivity solutions, mapping services, production, inventory and planning optimization, servicing and repairs, and more. At the same time, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be hands-on building key systems and will be directly responsible for the successful delivery of complex and large-scale technical efforts as well acting as a technical mentor and leader for other engineers.
What you’ll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Work with engineers & technical leaders across the company to ship interoperable products and systems on strong foundations that manage customer interactions inside and outside of the vehicle
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverables
- Implement single sign-on solutions to allow users to authenticate once and access multiple applications securely. Design, implement and support identity, access and profile related services for multiple web applications, mobile apps and vehicle apps supporting internal and customer as users
- Implement best practices and standards for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation
- Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously learning and experimenting with new tools and techniques to improve our software development process
- Be responsible for the services that are owned by your team, ensuring 24/7 on-call coverage
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, California.
- The responsibilities of this role require 2 days per week attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Education/Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Years of Experience required in type of role: 8+ years in software development, with a focus on back-end technologies
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in one of the following languages: Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby
- Experience with both relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience with identity management systems (e.g., Azure AD, AWS Cognito, LDAP, Okta, Keyclock) and directory services for user authentication and management
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a passion for finding elegant solutions to complex challenges
- Optional/suggestions:
- Prior experience working experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Hands on experience building on AWS using Go and/or Python
- Full-stack development

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $150,000.00 - $185,000.00
Internal leveling code: IC9
