Team Leader - Machining 3rd Shift

About the Job
Perform all required Team Leader activities and coordinate all day-to-day work items within the Machining department.

Standard Duties:
- Effectively resolve work place conflicts/employee relation issues
- Professionally and effectively communicate with team members, customers, support groups and management
- Create and sustain standardize work for their area of responsibility
- Act as the subject matter expert in their area
- Identify normal vs. abnormal condition and take immediate appropriate action
- Lead problem solving activities for their area of responsibility
- Provide leadership and guidance for team in performing responsibilities and maintaining continuous improvement.
- Teach, coach and be knowledgeable regarding KPI’S to ensure objectives cost are met.
- Delegate daily duties to team members.
- Actively participate in leadership development activities sponsored by BorgWarner.
- Sustain the Operator Certification process.
- Work with operators to assist trouble-shooting activities for set-up, tool and equipment adjustments.
- Compile, store and retrieve production data as necessary.
- Prepare schedules and coordinate activities to ensure production and quality meets specifications.
- Ensure timely and accurate production reporting.
- Relay reschedules to planning as needed on a day-to-day basis (missed shipments).
- Assist the PQT in performing quality, SPC and documentation requirements.
- Ensure monthly safety training occurs.
- Identify unsafe work practices and work with Safety Leader to resolve.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety, Health and Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand up lifts.
- Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to loading machines, unloading machines, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.
- All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding and complying with the safety policies and procedures.

Education & Experience
Education: High School diploma or GED required
Experience:
6 months of related Machining experience preferred.
Experience in fast paced industrial lean environment
1 year of Leadership experience preferred
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge.
