Senior Business Developer – Energy Trading – Western Cape

About the Job
This role requires someone with solid knowledge of the electricity sector, experience selling to senior stakeholders, and the ability to navigate complex, extended sales cycles. You'll need a proven track record of B2B sales in the Energy Industry and a thorough understanding of the Energy Trading landscape.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sales strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to rapidly capture market share. Conduct market research to identify potential commercial and industrial customers. Provide input into marketing strategy and collateral required to generate leads and build our customer pipeline.
- Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Identify, engage, and build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers within target customers, to understand their electricity and decarbonization needs and position our solutions effectively
- Sales Presentations and Proposals: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients, showcasing the value proposition of our energy solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customised proposals that align with customer needs
- Negotiation and Contract Closure: Lead negotiations with clients to close PPAs. Work closely with legal, analytics and executive teams to ensure the smooth and timely closure of contracts
- Market Intelligence and Reporting: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to provide timely insights to the leadership team. Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline, and market developments
