Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for overseeing the overall general ledger and accounting related activities related to assigned PPM entities and accounts with a focus on revenue recognition and other complex accounting accruals. This role is a hybrid position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directly assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities by calculating, reviewing, approving, and posting various journal entries
- Prepare and analyze the accrual of revenue and costs of revenue, including commissions, for various operating segments
- Review accuracy of billable items, including application of sales taxes, and mapping to revenue accounts
- Prepare payroll related entries for multiple entities and coordinate with the Payroll Manager on accurate payroll reporting and salesperson commissions
- Manage monthly bank reconciliations process and ensure the timely preparation of all bank reconciliations with support from other Accounting team members
- Work collaboratively with and supports accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and analyze account reconciliations and schedules related to fixed assets and prepaids in the balance sheet
- Work directly with the Senior Accounting Manger to organize and manage the Fixed Asset subledger and monthly related transactions to reconcile to the general ledger software
- Support preparation of financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements, following GAAP and company policies
- Review, analyze and report on periodic account variances
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Develop and perform analytics on key accounts to drive resolution, create efficiencies in reviews, provide entity wide visibility and reduce overall risk
- Support the FP&A group with variance analyses and resolutions
- Assist with any identified changes to the accounting technology environment
- Adhere to all procedures and controls of the Finance team
- Assist with finance and accounting leadership with miscellaneous reporting and filing activities
- Assist with audit requests

Requirements
Required Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills working in large files with complex formulas, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting competing and changing deadlines
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Preferred Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Public Accounting experience
- CPA or other relevant certifications
- Industry experience with construction, utilities, or energy businesses
- Cloud ERP and CRM system experience (NetSuite, Oracle, Salesforce etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
