Position Specific Description
• Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Manage the quarterly and annual NAIC (yellow book) statutory filing
• Ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles and regulatory requirements for yellow book reporting. Monitor changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments to financial reporting processes.
• Coordinate and support external audits and examinations by regulatory authorities, providing necessary documentation and responses to inquiries.
• Oversee the Investment accounting process including valuation, income recognition, and reconciliations.
• Maintain current knowledge and expertise related to statutory accounting principles and regulatory reporting requirements
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial performance, ensure seamless financial operations and effective communication of financial information
• Strong knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles and regulatory requirements
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization
• Advanced MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, SUMIF)
• Ensures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment
• Manages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance management
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
• SAP or other large ERP experience

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and FERC, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company
• Provides accounting oversight to businesses and departments within the Company and ensures proper controls are in place for accurate financial reporting
• Ensures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment
• Keeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies, practices, and procedures
• Manages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance management
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience: 8+ years
• Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Master's Degree
