About the Job

We’re on a mission to revolutionise sustainable agriculture using our Precision Photosynthesis® technology to produce algae and seaweeds for category defining products that deliver positive impact on a global scale.

Based in Noosa, Australia, we’ve partnered with some of the world’s largest corporations in personal care and agriculture to deliver our first of a kind products and we’re now rapidly scaling operations to meet increasing demand.

We’re seeking an exceptional Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design, fabrication and commissioning of engineered components and manufacturing factory fit-out. This role is based in Noosa with opportunities for rapid career progression for the right candidate. Working with world leading experts in a purpose driven and highly motivated team, you will have the opportunity to work on first of a kind technology, build some of the world’s most exciting technologies and become a world leader in the field. Get ready to be hands-on and build the things you design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, assemble, install and maintain mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring proper fit, alignment and function.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures; disassemble, inspect, diagnose and implement on-the-spot corrective actions.
  • Perform precision measurements (calipers, micrometers) and validate tolerances against engineering drawings.
  • Lead hands-on commissioning of new machinery, including piping, wiring, sensors and control integration.
  • Conduct maintenance on pumps, mixers, reactors and auxiliary equipment, documenting all service activities.
  • Capture “as-built” changes: update 3D models after field modifications or prototype iterations (SolidWorks).
  • Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for machined and fabric Rogeated parts (SolidWorks).
  • Maintain BOMs, build logs and records within the PLM system; flag obsolete parts and find replacements.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Production Technicians to refine streamline workflows, and improve (OEE).
  • Uphold a safe and organized workspace: inventories, enforce lockout/tagout, and conduct regular safety audits.
  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and tolerance stack‑up analyses.
  • Support prototyping activities and oversee vendor-supplied mechanical components.
  • Interface with quality and product test labs to fine tune mechanical acceptance operational criteria.
  • Specify materials and sealing methods resistant to corrosion, biofouling, and sterilization cycles, and optimise cleaning‐in‐place (CIP) fixtures and protocols for routine maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to support scale-up activities and integration of new technology.

Base Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products in a construction, mechanical, or manufacturing background.
  • Manufacturing and production facilities experience.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Operate forklift and scissor lifts desirable.
  • Experience with plastic welding, plastic fabrication & polymer assembly methods.
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment.

What do we offer:

  • A team-first work environment that supports personal and professional growth.
  • The opportunity to contribute to meaningful, purpose driven solutions for some of the world’s biggest problems.
  • A diverse and inclusive workplace, with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
