GreenSwapp AI is an ML-powered data algorithm & API service for retailers & Consumer Packaged Goods brands to harmonize product data and estimate the (Scope 3) carbon emissions of their products, at scale - 2 min video explaining the AI / tech. Our API integrates the data with existing systems to

1. automate mandatory CO2 emissions reporting regulations

2. identify lower-impact products to procure and meet their climate reduction targets

3. communicate product-wise impacts to customers

About being a Data Engineer / Scientist at GreenSwapp

Following a successful launch last year that saw a couple of iconic enterprises adopting our tech, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer or Scientist with the a) skills to implement and maintain our data pipeline and b) attention to detail to find the proverbial needle in the data haystack. If this is you, don’t hang about, we need you right now!

You will work together with the Climate Data Lead and the Product Lead in the areas mentioned above. You will help improve the design, optimize and model our Data Architecture. You will write production level code in Python, building and interacting with our Delta Lake to ingest, clean, structure and populate data to be served to our customers. You will be working extensively with Databricks and Google Cloud. 

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ML Engineering or Data Science

• Candidates with a relevant Masters or PhD will be preferred

• Having worked professionally in a data-intensive environment is desirable

• Programming abilities, with a preference for testing and validation

• Knowledge of Python at a proficient level

• Experience with SQL

• A basic understanding of Agile principles

• An interest in writing great code

• Open to collaboration and willing to learn

• Having worked in a startup in the past is valuable

Core Tasks / Responsibilities

• Data Pipelines - Design and maintain pipelines for processing structured and unstructured data

• ML Ops - Productionize ML models and pipelines for scalability and efficiency.

• Data Ingestion - Extract and transform data from customer software systems.

• Data Integration - Serve and integrate outputs with ERP, PIM, and POS systems; build APIs using Python frameworks.

• Database Management 

• Business Logic - Translate climate algorithms into robust implementations.

• Code Quality - Refactor, document, and test production-quality code ensure modular, maintainable code.

• Data Quality Testing - Create test protocols to validate pipeline outputs.

• Data Governance & Security - Enforce security standards to comply with SOC 2 and other protocols.

• CI / CD - Manage continuous integration and deployment using Git.
