What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Payroll Processing:
    • Support in the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls.
    • Ensure all hours worked, overtime, paid time off (PTO), and other payroll adjustments are recorded correctly.
    • Review timecards and resolve any discrepancies before processing.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Ensure payroll is compliant with local, state, and federal laws, including tax withholding and benefit deductions.
    • Assist in the preparation and filing of payroll-related tax documents (e.g., payroll taxes, W-2s, 1099s, etc.).
    • Generate regular payroll reports for management, including labor costs and other relevant data.
    • Stay up-to-date on changes to tax laws and labor regulations.
  • Employee Support:
    • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll.
    • Assist with the resolution of payroll-related issues, including discrepancies and disputes.
    • Maintain confidential employee records related to payroll, taxes, and benefits.
  • Recordkeeping & Documentation:
    • Maintain up-to-date payroll records and employee documentation, ensuring accuracy and security.
    • Process new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status in the payroll system.
    • Ensure accurate records of vacation, sick leave, and other paid time off (PTO).
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with People department to ensure payroll data is aligned with employee benefits, compensation, and other relevant policies.
    • Assist with audits, including external audits or internal reviews of payroll systems and records.
    • Process Improvements:
    • Continuously review and suggest improvements to payroll processes, helping to streamline operations and increase efficiency.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in the office and in future production facility. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, SC and Columbia, SC. 
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Clerk, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer experience skills.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $80,000.00 - $90,000.00

Internal leveling code: IC9
