Associate, Investment & Advisory

Founded in early 2024, we invest across sectors critical to aviation decarbonization, including SAF, carbon removal technologies, alternative propulsion systems, advanced airframes, operations optimization, and materials recycling. Our flexible investment approach allows us to engage across various stages and structures, including targeted advisory support, creating strategic value for our portfolio and partners. With a uniquely experienced team spanning aviation, sustainability, energy, and finance, we operate actively in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

Role overview: As our business continues to grow in the US, we are looking to add an Associate to the team who can work across a mixed investment and advisory role. Working closely with SkiesFifty’s US leadership and our global team, you will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments while contributing to strategic advisory projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform investment screening, including market research, industry landscaping, initial founder engagements, and drafting screening memos

• Conduct in-depth due diligence, covering commercial validation, competitive and technical analysis, financial modeling, and comprehensive investment memo preparation

• Collaborate on advisory projects for Joint Ventures, portfolio companies, and strategic financial partners

• Supporting fundraising and partnership development across limited partners and industry stakeholders

About you:

• You’ve got 2-4 years of work experience in a relevant field (e.g., investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital), and the strong financial and analytical skills that come with it.

• You work well with others and enjoy collaborating; you’re comfortable at a field site or in a boardroom.

• You’re organized and you have the attention to detail to keep things straight across multiple active deals (and timezones).

• You have excellent skills across the Microsoft Office suite, and can whip up a slide, scratch model, or written memo to communicate complex ideas in a clear way.

• You can (and want to) dig into the science and engineering behind novel technologies. You have a background in STEM or a demonstrated ability to learn technical content independently.

• You have a demonstrated passion for industrial wonders (energy, aviation, manufacturing, logistics); you like doing deals and helping businesses grow.

Working at SkiesFifty: SkiesFifty has a fully remote business model, with key US team members based in New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas. Travel—to visit startups, investors, and each other—is not uncommon, so living near a major airport will make your life easier.

The base compensation for this role is ~$95,000-145,000 USD, with the opportunity for significant variable compensation based on firm and individual results.
