GFL Environmental is looking for a Laborer to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia!

GFL Environmental is seeking a Laborer to join our team at the Victoria Transfer Station. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a dynamic outdoor environment and are committed to safety, teamwork, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Manually separate and sort materials from mixed loads
Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
Direct traffic safely on-site as needed
Operate a front-end loader and excavator safely and efficiently (part-time operation)
Assist in load screening and spotting duties
Perform manual tasks such as lifting/moving materials (up to 65 lbs)
Follow all safety protocols and instructions with limited supervision
Complete other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift and move up to 65 pounds regularly
Basic reading, writing, and math skills
Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
Experience operating equipment such as loaders/excavators (an asset)
Forklift certification and first aid tickets are considered assets
Must meet safety-sensitive function criteria as per company standards
