We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable supervisor with strong leadership and operational experience. This role will build up and lead the accounts payable team to oversee Accounts Payable (AP) operations within the Finance department for the Middle East Region. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will partner with multiple stakeholders in Saudi Arabia (KSA), Europe and United States of America (USA) to ensure accurate, complete and timely Accounts payable (AP) activities, and to help secure the success of the company. This role requires strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to work across multiple time zones of Middle East, Europe and North America and handle diverse financial regulations.

The Role:

  • Invoice Processing & Payment Execution
    • Review, validate, and process invoices via SAP, Vendor Invoice Management (VIM), and other ERP platforms.
    • Ensure invoices are processed according to 2-way and 3-way matching principles.
    • Execute vendor payments within agreed terms, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls, Value Added Tax (VAT), and regional tax regulations.
    • Address and resolve invoice discrepancies, escalating complex cases as needed.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management
    • Maintain clear and effective communication with vendors, procurement teams, and finance teams across multiple countries.
    • Ensure vendor data accuracy, including banking details and payment terms, to mitigate fraud risks.
    • Act as a key liaison between the Middle East teams for AP-related queries and issue resolution.
  • Month-End Close & Reconciliations
    • Oversee AP ledger reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
    • Support month-end close activities by preparing AP reports, journal entries, and transactional summaries.
    • Monitor AP aging reports, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances.
    • Booking of VIM accruals for the middle east region.
  • Compliance & Process Improvement
    • Ensure AP policies align with Middle Eastern financial regulations, including VAT, IFRS, and local tax laws.
    • Drive PTP (Procure-to-Pay) process improvements in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement Team.
    • Train internal teams on AP procedures, financial system navigation, and compliance requirements.
  • Automation & Efficiency Enhancement
    • Leverage automation tools such as Concur for Travel & Entertainment (T&E) expense processing.
    • Optimize AP workflows, reducing manual errors and enhancing operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to implement process automation initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (master’s degree is a plus).
  • 8+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in a multi-entity, regional AP role.
  • knowledge of SAP, VIM, Coupa, Oracle ERP, and Concur would be a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and data analysis.
  • Experience with SOX controls compliance, IFRS, VAT regulations, and financial audits.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle escalations.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders across regions.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple time zones (Middle East, European Union and North America).
  • Experience in the automotive industry would be a plus
