What you’ll be doing
As a Construction Assistant, you will visit a variety of minor and major project work streams, liaising with customers and contractors to complete works at customer premises as well as major construction sites. You’ll support the business's customer service responsibilities with enquiries and complaints, assisting in the delivery of minor and major work volumes that are scheduled in a timely fashion as per targets, keeping customers fully informed throughout.
The Construction Assistant role will work closely with a team of construction project managers and operational support team members to collectively manage delivery of projects, district hazards, complaints, and general enquiries. This role is based in the Ayrshire & Clyde South district Kilmarnock office and reports to the Head of Delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers, maintaining a high degree of care and professionalism to schedule works/appointments and provide customer updates.
- Liaise with planned delivery teams over a variety of sites/works each day.
- Work towards a zero-accident culture and lead by example.
- Help maintain a safe and secure network.
- Ensure project designs comply with company and statutory requirements and update the business on required changes as they arise, working with the Project Management team.
- Provide interface with contractors and internal businesses to assist in the delivery of projects.
- Attend monthly team meetings.
What you’ll bring:
- Strong customer-focused skills.
- Experience scheduling/delivering or planning construction/utilities works of any nature.
- Electrical knowledge beneficial.
- Strong communicator and adept in managing competing priorities/tasks.
- Enthusiastic and flexible individual who is self-motivated with the drive to succeed.
- Ability to assist in delivering objectives without compromising on safety, quality, or customer service.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Computer literacy
