The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Alliance Manager, you will lead a team across the full remit of HR, IR, Training, Recruitment, and Social Inclusion. Based between West Perth and Alkimos with the majority of time at the Alkimos site, you will be a trusted business partner and play a vital role in developing and implementing HR strategies that enable the project to meet its goals.


What will you be Responsible for?

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with project goals and objectives, providing guidance and support to the project management team on HR matters.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures that align to project needs across both the project and Joint Venture partners.
  • Collaborate with project heads to forecast staffing needs and attract a diverse talent pool through recruitment strategies
  • Supporting the adherence to company policies and legislative requirements. Conduct intermediate-level investigations including drafting comprehensive reports that adequately address the relevant issues and provide appropriate recommendations to management.
  • Develop and implement the Industrial Relations Strategy for a project or region.
  • Provide advice to payroll regarding matters such as interpretation of enterprise agreement clauses and application of legislation such as long service leave, superannuation and ordinary time earnings etc
  • Oversee employee relations initiatives, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment while addressing employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Identify training needs and develop comprehensive learning and development programs to build capability on the project.
  • Lead and develop an HR team to deliver project outcomes.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Experience in a leadership role within the HR/IR environment, ideally in a similar industry.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of applicable legislation and apply good practice and principles to reduce risk.
  • Ideally, a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Highly proficient with employment law, regulations, and best practices in HR.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to manage a team effectively, ideally in a joint venture environment.
  • Capability to influence and drive change management through all levels of project leadership and operational staff
