The role

We are seeking an independent, self-driven and well-organized individual with a good analytical mindset and communication skills to support our battery materials research in China. Our batteries solution is designed to give a deep understanding of the battery materials, supply chain, and the batteries market.

The Battery Solution covers the entire battery value chain, including the global market for battery and raw material products, from both a supply and demand perspective. Key focus areas include end-use applications of battery in industry and transport, as well as battery technologies and market trends. With battery becoming increasingly relevant as a pathway to decarbonize several hard to abate sectors, we at Rystad Energy are continuously working with clients to understand this fast-growing market.

Job location: Shanghai, China

Key Responsibilities

• Support improving Rystad Energy’s battery asset-level database.
• Conduct research on asset-level information and make updates to the database.
• Support industrial news and market trends updates.
• Support creation of charts for commentaries and reports.
• Additional tasks may be assigned by Team Manager and Analysts.  

Requirements

• Undergraduate or post-graduate final year students pursuing a degree in economics, energy systems, engineering, finance, computer science or other relevant majors.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel and Powerpoint. Programming skills such as Python, SQL and Power BI are an advantage but not required.
• Experience related to battery materials or similar will be an added advantage.
• Native Mandarin speaker, fluent in English.
