The Opportunity

We are excited to offer a valuable opportunity for a highly motivated student (Master level) to join our Grid Management and Optimization team in Mannheim, Germany for a six-month internship.

As an intern, you will contribute to cutting-edge research and development in probabilistic optimization for modern power distribution systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Conduct a literature review on power system optimization under uncertainty
• Enhance existing tools for risk-aware mathematical optimization
• Develop interfaces to modern power system simulation libraries
• Identify suitable grid models and test scenarios
• Document and present your findings to internal stakeholders

Your Background

• Currently pursuing a degree in Energy Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Solid understanding of mathematical optimization
• Ideally, hands-on experience with optimization under uncertainty in power systems
• Strong programming skills, including object-oriented design (preferably in Python or a similar modern language)
• A collaborative mindset and strong team spirit
