Who are we looking for?

The Development Engineer plays a key role in advancing new technologies across our composite manufacturing operations. This position is primarily responsible for owning the execution of technology development initiatives and new program launches at Composite Resources in Rock Hill, SC. The role involves close collaboration with manufacturing sites to ensure processes and programs are delivered on time and within budget. Success in this role requires a proactive problem-solver who excels at multi-functional teamwork and can partner efficiently with internal teams and clients to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

What you get to do!

  • Operationalize manufacturing capabilities and new materials that drive growth of the Re:Build Composite Business.
  • Develop and evaluate business programs for implementing new process technologies across Re:Build businesses, ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets to support on-time, on-budget execution.
  • Drive execution for standing up new processes at existing manufacturing sites by collaborating with resources at our manufacturing facilities.
  • Create training materials and procedures for new manufacturing processes.
  • Develop a practical understanding for existing process and material technologies to identify the appropriate supporting site, or capability, for new developments.
  • Lead multi-site initiatives for technical and thermoset product optimization.
  • Ability to provide technical support to existing Re:Build Manufacturing customers.
  • Develop key partnerships with vendors and suppliers that enable the growth of Re:Build in key market segments.

What you will bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's of Science or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related technical field, with validated experience in controls or automation engineering
  • 5 to 8 years of experience
  • Expertise in thermoset materials and processing, with a strong foundation in applied engineering math and problem-solving in sophisticated, variable environments
  • Proficient in SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools) and experienced in project scoping, scheduling, and leading multi-functional initiatives
  • Strong communicator with the ability to write clear technical reports, present to partners, and collaborate optimally across engineering, leadership, and customer teams
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and workflows within ISO/AS-certified environments
  • Self-motivated and organized, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%, and able to meet the physical requirements of hands-on engineering work

Additional information:  This role is 100% onsite in our Rock Hill, SC Composite Resources location.
