Service Engineer

We are now looking for an enthusiastic Service Engineer to join our skilled Field Service Resources team. The role is offered as a permanent contract and will be based in Nørresundby, Denmark.

What will you be doing?

As a Service Engineer, you will perform both mechanical and automation related Field Service activities on marine and land-based installations with Wärtsilä engines and propulsion applications. Your focus will be providing high-level technical support, enabling smooth operations, and ensuring our customers receive the best possible service experience.

In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to work internationally, travelling the world for various service jobs for approximately 150 – 200 days per year. Therefore, we are looking for candidates with a strong Field Service mindset, who are ready and willing to travel.

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

• Performing Field Service activities according to the work scope, including service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauls.
• Checking and adjusting relevant systems, i.e. auxiliary equipment.
• Assisting on trial runs and testing of mechanical and electrical installations according to instructions.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and continuous interactions with customers throughout work execution.
• Providing internal and external reports and as-built documentation.
• Creating Service Work Reports in accordance with Wärtsilä Field Service procedures.
• Collecting and organising time and expense reports after work completion, reporting and informing the administrative personnel as required.
• Conforming with and abiding by Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies.
• Promoting Wärtsilä products and services.
• Actively engaging in own competence development.

Role requirements:

• BSc or MSc in Marine Engineering.
• Prior experience with mechanical and automation tasks in a similar role.
• Expertise in 4-stroke engine principles and/or marine propulsion systems, including operations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Technical reporting skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with others.
• Proficient English and Danish language skills, both written and spoken.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel globally 150 – 200 days per year.
