As of 2023, our IPP fleet comprises over 450 projects, representing 3.4 gigawatts of total clean energy production and storage capacity. Requirements

As Greenbacker continues to raise capital and grow our investment portfolio, an opportunity has arisen to join Greenbacker’s Accounting Team. This role is heavily involved in technical accounting research, acquisitions, the audit process, and development of internal processes to address various control risks. The successful candidate will work cross-departmentally with various other functions of the company including investments, operations, legal, tax, and financial reporting to accomplish its objectives. The Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Financial Accounting and will manage a growing team of Senior and Staff accountants. As Greenbacker is an evolving and high growth company, the responsibilities will be broad, varied and all encompassing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly close process for assigned entities, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure compliance with internal policies and GAAP.
• Coordinate and review financial reporting deliverables for internal management and external parties.
• Support audit processes and manage the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Train, mentor, and supervise senior and staff accountants.
  

Education and Experience:

• CPA preferred
• 6+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting operations.
• Proven ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Strong Excel and ERP system skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
