Join our Board, Launch 100 Climate Startups

Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
Commitment: Quarterly Board Meetings - annual 2-3 day in-person retreat, one quarterly in-person meeting, two remote meetings
Compensation: Volunteer (travel reimbursed for in-person gatherings)

LabStart is a nonprofit deep climate technology venture studio backing climate solutions that are too early, too hard, or too important to ignore.

We work hands-on with seasoned entrepreneurs, first-time founders, and industry experts to launch fundable, high-impact ventures. From lab to launch, we provide the earliest support—bridging the gap between breakthrough innovation and investable startup.

Our lean, mission-driven team is backed by catalytic funders who believe in moving faster, funding smarter, and building a more inclusive climate future.

The Opportunity

We’re adding 2–3 bold, committed working Board Members to help take LabStart to its next stage of impact. This is a high-leverage opportunity for leaders who want to shape the future of climate innovation—and have the networks to help fund it.

We're looking for people who:

• Have an unshakeable personal commitment to solve the climate crisis

• Are deeply connected in philanthropy, venture capital, and/or impact funding

• Will open doors to aligned funders – and help us close on new funding opportunities
  

What You’ll Do

• Join quarterly virtual board meetings + one in-person retreat annually

• Shape strategy and hold us accountable to bold goals

• Each quarter, share a list of funder targets and help move them forward

• Help “close” 3–5 new funders per year, increasing our annual budget

• Be a trusted sounding board for growth, governance, and impact
  

Who You Are

• A high-net-worth individual, family office lead, or philanthropic advisor

• A climate tech founder, investor, or funder with sector fluency

• A thoughtful connector who brings credibility, energy, and follow-through

• Board experience is great—but not required if you bring the right drive and reach
