Position Specific Description
The Director, Strategic Engagement Systems provides leadership within a team of eight in the design, management and implementation of research, content, and partnership systems that support the Strategic Engagement program. The program enhances the grassroots advocacy capabilities at the local level of NextEra Energy Resources across the United States.
He/She will have a proven track record of successful experience in campaign or issue management, a familiarity with the political process and electoral politics and have solid exposure to traditional campaign tactics such as paid, earned and social media, as well as community engagement and related organizational alliances and partnerships.
The role will report to the Executive Director, Strategic Engagement, and will closely coordinate with a handful of other campaign team members. Driving outcomes by collaborating with internal collaborators from other teams such as NEER Development, Marketing and Communications, Digital Advocacy, Community Engagement, and other areas is vitally important. Experience in leading ongoing and ad hoc teams is required.
The engagement program develops long term strategies to strengthen NextEra’s relationship with key local officials, community leaders and landowners by developing an “always on” approach that is focused on a long-term engagement with key localities and states.
The successful candidate benefits from professional experience in the areas of strategic communications, political offices, and/or work in state and local government. Previous corporate experience is desired. Matrixed management and cross-functional project management experience is preferred. The position is based in Juno Beach, FL. Some travel may be required (about 10-20%).

• Coordinate with other functional teams to achieve desired outcomes in a collaborative way;
• Lead Strategic Engagement team members in utilizing systems developed and deployed;
• Initiate new projects and successfully guide them to implementation, with an ongoing commitment to measuring and optimizing impact;
• Evangelize systems and accomplishments enabled by the systems to others across multiple business units, to further program objectives.

- Collaborate with internal partners and clients
- Formulate company strategies internally for communication in the marketplace
- Complete long-range strategic planning
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
