About the Job

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Who We Are

Bidgely (which means \"electricity\" in Hindi) is an AI-powered SaaS Company accelerating a clean energy future by enabling energy companies and consumers to make data-driven energy-related decisions.

Ranked #7 in Applied AI on Fast Company’s list of Most Innovative Companies in the World, Bidgely is putting customers at the center of the clean energy future.

Who you are

Proven Technology Executive

You bring 15+ years of engineering and product experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership, driving innovation and delivering mission-critical software. You've scaled teams and systems in fast-paced, high-growth environments and have a track record of building market-leading products.

Strategic and Deeply Technical

You blend strategic vision with hands-on technical depth. You’re comfortable navigating architectural decisions, infrastructure challenges, and AI adoption while also setting direction and aligning teams to business outcomes.

Execution-Oriented Leader

You excel at driving results. You bring operational discipline to product and engineering, ensuring velocity, quality, and accountability across teams. You know how to turn ambiguity into well-executed plans.

Culture Builder and Talent Developer

You are a culture carrier who builds high-trust, high-performance teams. You prioritize mentorship, clarity, and feedback, and you continually raise the bar by hiring and developing top talent while addressing underperformance head-on.

Customer-Obsessed and Outcome-Driven

You put user experience and business value at the center of every technical decision. You gravitate toward elegant, pragmatic solutions, and you care deeply about customer satisfaction, product excellence, and measurable impact.

What You Do:

Organizational Leadership

  • Architect and evolve an org structure designed to scale from $40M to $100M+ ARR, enabling high ownership, throughput, and innovation.

  • Hire, coach, and retain a world-class engineering and technical leadership bench, creating clear career paths and accountability systems.

  • Continuously raise team quality by 10% year-over-year through data-driven performance management, strong peer review culture, and continuous improvement systems.

  • Build a culture of high performance, autonomy, and transparency, with clear systems to reward excellence and address underperformance.

Execution

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all engineering initiatives with clarity, urgency, and predictability.

  • Ensure tight alignment between business objectives and engineering deliverables, with shared accountability on outcomes.

  • Drive >90% sprint completion rates with <5% scope additions mid-sprint, and enforce milestone discipline to prevent launch delays.

  • Operate in lockstep with CPO and CRO to connect execution with revenue and market commitments.

Quality

  • Instill left-shift principles—test early, review often, automate everything—as a foundational part of our SDLC.

  • Guarantee 100% test automation coverage for new code, and grow legacy system coverage to >70%.

  • Ensure all features and epics undergo design/architecture review, or are explicitly exempted with rationale.

  • Establish engineering excellence standards for resilience, observability, performance, and security.

  • Maintain zero SLA breaches through rigorous ops readiness, proactive monitoring, and blameless postmortems.

Innovation

  • Lead the engineering organization to deliver differentiated, high-impact technology solutions that advance our market position.

  • Encourage bold thinking paired with pragmatic execution—bringing new ideas to life through experimentation, rapid prototyping, and system-level thinking.

  • Directly own the AI and data science function, including algorithm strategy, model development, performance evaluation, and MLOps maturity.

  • Use AI and developer tooling to double engineering productivity over two years, combining strategic tooling, AI copilots, and process redesign.

  • Foster a strong culture of technical exploration, staying ahead of evolving tools, frameworks, and architectural paradigms.

Accountability & Transparency

  • Set high standards for measurement, visibility, and data-driven decision-making across engineering execution.

  • Define and enforce a disciplined development lifecycle, with clear expectations around throughput, test coverage, design rigor, and quality.

  • Ensure leadership and stakeholders have timely insight into execution health, risks, and dependencies—enabling alignment and confident decision-making.

Operational Ownership

  • Partner with the CPO and CRO to jointly own end-to-end execution and delivery across the company, minimizing operational dependence on the CEO.

  • Play a central role in company-wide prioritization and resource allocation decisions, ensuring alignment between strategic goals and technical investments.

  • Maintain a cost-conscious culture, achieving $1M/year in AWS savings through architecture discipline, usage control, and tooling efficiency.

Engineering Excellence

  • Be the steward of Bidgely’s technical architecture, ensuring it evolves with scale, supports multiple product lines, and enables long-term flexibility.

  • Codify and elevate engineering best practices—CI/CD automation, design principles, observability, API strategy, cloud governance, and more.

  • Align all engineering efforts to business KPIs, customer outcomes, and product differentiators.

Lead from the front to ensure Bidgely is recognized as the technical and operational benchmark in the utility AI space.
