Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Business Manager to lead end-to-end transformation initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Management Office, this role will play a critical part in delivering a company-wide end to end transformation anchored in innovation, with a strong emphasis on operational and financial excellence.
The Manager will serve as a product owner and core leader within the Transformation Office, aligning cross-functional teams and driving execution across AI-enabled operations, finance, and digital platforms. This role is ideal for a strong operator with a proven ability to translate strategy into action and deliver measurable impact in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads company-wide transformation initiatives focused on embedding innovation across operations and financial processes
- Acts as the product owner for key transformation efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivery of measurable business value
- Sets up and manages the Transformation Office, establishing governance structures, best practices, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and execution
- Coordinates across product owners, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to drive unified execution and resolve key challenges
- Develops and executes strategies for AI-driven operational and financial transformation in partnership with senior leadership
- Oversees business management activities related to transformation efforts, including budgeting, resource planning, executive updates, and performance tracking
- Champions a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, supporting effective change management and employee engagement across the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide transformation, strategy, or innovation programs; management consulting experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience owning product development or transformation execution across operations, finance, or digital domains
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with senior stakeholders in fast-paced environments
- Background in energy, sustainability, or asset-heavy industries with exposure to capital-intensive operations and clean energy technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with AI/ML, data platforms, or digital operations a plus
- Advanced degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred
Job Overview
Leaders in this position support the overall P and L management of one or more NextEra generating assets that have achieved commercial operation. This role supports strategic decision-making with respect to such assets, including hedging, operations and maintenance. This role identifies opportunities and analyzes the impact on company financials to maximize P and L profitability.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Manages a team responsible for improving the generating asset's P and L, operations monitoring, development and assessment of value-added ideas to optimize asset performance and increase profitability
• Reviews proposed budgets and monthly forecasts, financial analyses, ad hoc reports, and modeling
• Ensures compliance with power purchase agreements, land leases, financings and regulatory requirements
• Resolves issues across multiple assets and/or states and presents findings and results to all levels of management
• Works with teams throughout the company in a manager or coordinator capacity
• Maintains close working relationships with partners, customers and stakeholders
• Recommends hedging strategies
• Negotiates various commercial agreements
• Leads or assists with value-added projects such as supporting regional leadership in the development of strategic plans, mergers and acquisitions, project development, asset optimization, restructurings and building relationships with off-takers, landowners, and state and local regulators
• Trains and mentors team members
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

• Experience:8+ years

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
• Supervisor/Management Experience:1+ years
