About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Retail Sales Manager to lead our retail sales channel in Sierra Leone. This role is all about driving revenue growth, expanding our customer base, and ensuring our Pay As You Go (PAYGO) model reaches more people who need it. Roles & Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue and customer acquisition.
- Identify and explore new market opportunities to expand our reach.
- Set and track key sales targets, making sure we stay on course.
- Streamline sales processes to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Implement the Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) approach to improve sales forecasting, optimize inventory levels and enhance distribution efficiency.
- Work closely with the credit team to support strong repayment rates.
- Coordinate with credit and collections teams to ensure smooth repayment processes.
- Leverage data insights from the credit team to refine sales strategies and improve customer acquisition quality.
- Align sales efforts with credit risk mitigation strategies to maintain a healthy customer portfolio.
- Lead, train, and inspire a high-performing sales team.
- Set clear sales goals and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Grow our agent and distributor network to increase our market presence.
- Build partnerships with financial institutions and local businesses to make our products more accessible.
- Lead expansion efforts into underserved areas, bringing energy and device solutions to more communities.
- Use data to assess performance and uncover growth opportunities.
- Provide regular sales reports and insights to senior management.
- Leverage CRM tools to track sales trends and customer interactions.
- Apply CPFR principles to align sales planning with demand forecasting and supply chain management.
- Implement strategies to improve repayment rates and customer retention.
- Work with marketing to develop campaigns that drive demand and loyalty.
- Ensure top-notch customer service and after-sales support.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in sales leadership, ideally in off-grid solar, fintech, telecom, consumer electronics or FMCG.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and leading successful teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in emerging markets, particularly in last-mile distribution, is a plus.
- Familiarity with CPFR methodologies and their application in sales forecasting and inventory management.
- Expertise in credit portfolio management, including credit risk analysis and collections optimization.
