This individual will be a part of our <strong>Biomechanics</strong> Practice.  In this role, you will often work as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role will include collaboration with scientists and engineers to provide detailed medical expert analysis and conclusions. </p><p> </p><h2>You will be responsible for</h2><ul> <li>Rendering medical expert opinions including, in part, injury causation analyses and evaluation of pathologic natural disease processes</li> <li>Evaluating complex events involving high severity and potential demise</li> <li>Detailed review of provided antemortem and postmortem information, such as autopsy findings, medical records, radiology, photographs, laboratory tests, and investigative reports</li> <li>Clearly communicating medical findings and opinions to a variety of audiences, including technical experts, attorney clients, and lay stakeholders</li> <li>Preparing detailed expert State and Federal reports and opinion disclosures as required</li> <li>Participating in teleconferences with stakeholders and clearly verbally communicating findings to non-medical individuals</li> <li>Testifying as an expert medical witness in civil, state, and federal court proceedings</li> <li>Maintaining continuing AMA Category 1 medical education credits</li> <li>Effectively working in a multidisciplinary environment as a member of a team</li> <li>Adhering to required internal quality assurance practices regarding project engagements and work product</li></ul><h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Graduation from a United States LCME accredited college or university with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, or completed USMLE process</li> <li>Be currently and actively acknowledged as board-certified as described by the ABMS</li> <li>Preference for described and accepted qualifications by the ABMS in Forensic and Anatomic Pathology, Emergency Medicine, or a trauma-related specialty</li> <li>Hold a current, active, unrestricted state medical license from within the United States</li> <li>Knowledge base shall be commensurate with the position responsibility</li> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li> <li>Effective and appropriate leadership skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of professionals, including engineers, scientists, technical managers, external clients, and administrative staff</li> <li>Familiarity with medicolegal-type subject matter including wrongful death and negligence is desirable</li> <li>Medicolegal awareness involving pain and suffering is desirable</li> <li>A history of professional role-related testifying in trial and depositions is desirable</li> <li>Open to full- or part-time consideration</li></ul><p> </p><p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].</em></p><h2>Life @ Exponent</h2><p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponenthttps://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p><p> </p><p>We value and encourage diversity, equity and inclusion across all facets of our firm. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
