As a Plant Manager, you will ensure the highest standards of environmental Safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the recycling facilities, and manage the costs efficiently within the sites. Daily reporting and meeting with General Manager. Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. <ul><li>Ensures smooth operation of site, including but not limited to: production, sorting, loading, unloading, inventory and labor. </li><li>Minimizes handling and operational costs. </li><li>Continually works to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of site. </li><li>Regularly proposes means of operational improvement. </li><li>Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and ensures adherence to Safe work practices to encourage safe and efficient operations. </li><li>Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation. </li><li>Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the equipment and fleet through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with supervisors/employees and maintenance shop. </li><li>Oversees personnel needs of the Sites including time and attendance, selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employees’ performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions to General Manager. </li><li>Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic safety meetings. </li><li>Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner. </li><li>Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner. </li><li>Assist with production as needed. Ability and skilled in use of forklift skid steer, bucket front-end loader and yard truck a plus. </li><li>Knowledge of, or willing to learn baler and conveyor systems. </li></ul>Supervisory Responsibilities The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job are the tasks associated with leading and coaching employees. This includes: <ul><li>Direct/Indirect supervision of full-time employees including Leads, Drivers, Equipment Operators, Maintenance Mechanics, Sorters and Operational Support. </li></ul>RequirementsQualifications  The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. <ul><li>Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Business Administration, or similar area of study or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of industry work experience in leadership role. </li><li>Experience: 7 years of previous work experience (in addition to education requirement) with at least 4 years being in a leadership role. </li></ul>Work Environment Listed below are key points regarding environmental demands and work environment of the job. <ul><li>The recycling facilities have a dusty environment containing recyclable materials. </li></ul>Typical Physical Demands: <ul><li>Ability to operate office equipment used as needed. </li><li>Ability to organize various office systems/stations through adjusting, connecting, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending or folding for the purpose of proper records development, office functions and/or management. </li><li>Ability to use a computer and related devices, such as a keyboard or mouse or other related equipment, throughout the workday while seated at a desk or workstation. </li><li>Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop or stand for long periods of time.
