We are seeking a senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team, responsible for designing advanced peelers from concept through to production and field support. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with practical design experience, ensuring machines meet performance, quality and cost targets.You will work closely with internal stakeholders such as, product management, production, service, as well as external partner including suppliers, technology providers and customers. Benchmarking against competitors and applying cutting-edge Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles are key to maintaining our technical and cost leadership. Role &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead the conceptual and architectual design of machines and modules, ensuring performance and cost targets are met.</li><li>Translate theoretical knowledge into cost-effective mechanical designs.</li><li>Design and develop prototypes and parts, including drafting, testing, and validation.</li><li>Apply state-of-the-art DfM techniques to optimise quality and cost</li><li>Maintain the technical knowledge on peeling applications. Offer support to peeling issues (internal and external).</li><li>Identify and propose technical improvements for existing applications.</li><li>Organise and lead design reviews and FMEA sessions to ensure design quality. </li><li>Maintain and improve design documentation principles in line with requirements from suppliers, manufacturing, service teams. </li><li>Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, coordinating work to meet project deadlines.</li><li>Represent the mechanical engineering department to  internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Conduct market research and maintain a network of suppliers, partners and technology providers. </li></ul><ul></ul>
