We have an enjoyable, dynamic and collaborative work environment.</li></ul> What you’ll do<ul><li>Lead the North American month-end close process, including the review of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and accruals</li><li>Partner with the Consolidation accountant to ensure North American entities are properly consolidated and intercompany transactions are eliminated</li><li>Prepare and present regional financial statements (P&amp;L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with detailed variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget)</li><li>Ensure all regional accounting practices comply with US GAAP, specifically focusing on ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases)</li><li>Oversee the AP and AR functions, ensuring efficient cash application and vendor payment cycles that scale with our headcount growth</li><li>Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit, managing the PBC list and technical inquiries</li><li>Assist with the implementation &amp; testing of new accounting systems &amp; with the development of a SOX framework</li><li>Optimize accounting processes and assist with the eventual implementation of a SOX program</li><li>Manage state and local tax compliance, including sales tax, property tax, and corporate filings across all US and Canadian jurisdictions</li><li>Coach and mentor staff on the team</li><li>Assist in special projects as needed</li></ul> What we are looking for<ul><li>Growth-minded: Experienced in their speciality field but  hungry for continuous  learning and improvement</li><li>Industry-seasoned: has already spent time supporting the electric power / cleantech industries</li><li>Self-starter: willing to dig into new concepts, make recommendations with limited information, and be highly effective with minimal direction and supervision</li><li>Systems thinker: a love for efficiency, ensuring that processes work well together to streamline commercial operations</li><li>Focused: we are a small team with many competing priorities.
