In this role you will report to the Debt/Benefits/Investments Accounting Manager and focus mainly on Debt Accounting related activities. Specific duties and responsibilities of this role include:<ul><li>Review and post existing debt interest accruals, amortization of issuance costs, premium or discount, and deferred interest.</li><li>Track and review invoices and initiate payments of principal and interest though SAP, communicating with trustee banks when needed.</li><li>Review monthly debt related balance sheet and income statement general ledger accounts and explain variances.</li><li>Input new debt issuances into SAP working with other internal and external parties to ascertain terms. </li><li>Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external reporting.</li><li>Prepare quarterly account reconciliations</li></ul>The ideal candidate will possess the following performance attributes and competencies:<ul><li>A strong desire to understand both the SAP financial system and accounting concepts related to debt</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment</li><li>Analytical skills for applying technical GAAP and NextEra accounting policy to complex transactions</li><li>Verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and within team environment</li><li>Self-motivation and sense of ownership and responsibility</li></ul>
