The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, team player, skilled writer, and has public relations experience. They thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and they are ready and excited to learn about new technologies and products.<h2>Core duties</h2><ul><li>Content Creation: Create high-quality content for press releases, blogs, opinion articles, case studies, white papers, and social media.</li><li>Communications Support: Assist with building media lists and pitching expert sources, story ideas, and session abstracts to various media outlets to secure coverage and/or speaking opportunities. Follow industry media outlets, newsletters, and events to stay informed on current trends and opportunities.</li><li>Social Media Management: Draft, publish, and manage organic social media content and track engagement.</li><li>Client Support: Engage regularly with clients to understand their communications needs. Participate in virtual meetings with clients and internal teams to discuss strategy, deliverables, deadlines, and other project-related activities.</li><li>Reporting: Compile and analyze key data related to communications (website traffic, social media metrics, earned media mentions, trends, future opportunities).</li><li>Professionalism: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, internal teams, reporters, vendors, and partners.</li><li>Work Environment: Maintain a clean, safe home office work environment.</li></ul><h2>Minimum qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field.</li><li>2+ years of work experience, with some direct experience in clean energy, climate tech, or sustainability.</li><li>Exceptional writing and research skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of various types of content.</li><li>A passion for (or strong interest in) sustainability and clean energy.</li><li>Professional attitude and ability to uphold high standards in communication and brand representation.</li></ul><h2>Preferred qualifications</h2><ul><li>Experience pitching to or working with media outlets.</li><li>Proficiency in Google Workspace, Asana, Google Analytics, and HubSpot.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and experience using SEO tools, such as Semrush.</li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with media outreach and tracking tools, such as Cision, AgilityPR or Meltwater.</li><li>Experience in social media platforms and social media management tools, such as Sprout Social.</li><li>Ability to track and analyze website and social media metrics using Google Analytics and other tools.</li></ul><h2>Compensation</h2>Compensation for this position starts at $30/hour and is commensurate with experience.&nbsp;To apply, please send your resume, a cover letter, and two writing samples via the link below.
