This role focuses on structural optimization, aerodynamics, and low‑mass design, using CAD, analysis, testing, and prototyping to deliver durable, manufacturable solutions. The engineer owns designs from concept through production and sustainment, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure performance, quality, and schedule. This position requires technical leadership, strong design ownership, and the ability to translate high‑level requirements into robust, production‑ready hardware.Primary Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Utilize your experience with lightweight structural design and materials to design key components and structures for our current generation unmanned systems.</li><li>Optimize for aerodynamic profiles and efficiencies.</li><li>Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA), experiments, and rapid prototyping to design products for durability, performance, and manufacturing quality.</li><li>Develop and conduct tests to validate design across full operational capability envelope and environment.</li><li>Deliver market leading designs with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)/Design for Assembly (DFA) methods and techniques.</li><li>Demonstrate strong communication skills; active collaboration with team leads, management, and other team members is expected. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer takes broad, high-level requirements and feedback to generate specific design tasks and outcomes; owns and drives meetings as applicable.</li><li>Take strong ownership of assigned systems, programs, customers, etc. Actively curate subsystem requirements, performance, and timeline.
