Job Description: The CAD Designer will be based in Mexico City, Mexico. In this position, you will report to the Manager, CAD Design. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide design support to the Project Engineers. The position will interact with a team of engineers making all decisions relating to Design &amp; Engineering for Nextracker’s projects including, but not limited to: site plans, mechanical sheet sets, foundation drawings, bill of materials, wind loading analysis, value engineering, and various other design or engineering tasks and decisions to support project quoting and execution phases. Further, this position will be potentially interfacing with engineering teams located in the US and India as well as Sales, Project Management, and R&amp;D teams at Nextracker’s offices around the world. What a typical day looks like:<ul><li>You will provide design support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and full construction plan sets;</li><li>Review pertinent site information, design inputs, and assist in selecting appropriate product types based on site conditions;</li><li>You will work with a team of engineers located in our India office updating to new product configurations and drafting standards and potentially developing automation procedures;</li><li>Work with the Project Engineering team to conduct value engineering exercises to lower costs on an individual project basis;</li><li>Coordinate with Nextracker's Designers in other regions to create and update new product standards, design changes, and project related issues;</li><li>Learn topography analysis, hydrology analysis, in order to determine best tracker placement.</li></ul> Here is some of what you’ll need:<ul><li>BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering preferred;</li><li>Associates degree in related field at minimum;</li><li>Thorough knowledge of drafting standards;</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, &amp; AutoCAD Civil;</li><li>Strong organizational skills;</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;</li><li>Self-motivated team player.</li></ul> Here are a few of our preferred experiences…<ul><li>At least 1 year of relevant work experience in the solar industry preferred;</li><li>Knowledge of construction sheet sets and project design of PV plants a plus;</li><li>Passion for solar a plus.</li></ul>  At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
