Together we can transform the future of energy.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Join us in leading the change!We are looking to hire Power Systems Engineer to be part of our Team.   How you can make an impact:<ul> <li>Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis including evaluating available capacity for transmission lines and substations and estimate timing and costs.</li> <li>Create and validate PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP, and ASPEN models for renewable generation: Solar PV, BESS, and Wind.</li> <li>Perform tasks requiring the application of standard electrical engineering techniques and procedures. Work includes analysis of electrical transmission/distribution systems, including generation interconnection studies, load flow analysis, dynamic studies, reactive power compensation study, transient stability analysis, short circuit, protection coordination and voltage analysis.</li> <li>Stay up to date on relevant state and federal regulatory matters, NERC, FERC compliance, and ISOs new requirements.</li> <li>Work with the team to support EPE’s generation developer Clients with understanding the interconnection process in different Independent System Operators (ISO).</li> <li>Design and review Preliminary Site Layout, Single Line Diagrams, and 30% Design Package in AutoCAD.</li> <li>Perform Generation Interconnection Applications in ISOs as needed.</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:<ul> <li>2+ years minimum experience in generation interconnection and compliance related activities</li> <li>Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of generation interconnection process in different ISOs, especially in ERCOT. </li> <li>In-depth knowledge of power system fundamentals, software in power systems and emerging energy technology trends</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in detailed understanding of the analytical tools/software used in the industry.</li> <li>Strong customer focus, both internal and external.</li> <li>Demonstrate attention to details and being comfortable to be outside of the comfort zone.</li> <li>Proactive in learning new technology and engineering knowledge. </li></ul> How we support you:<ul> <li>Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage for you.</li> <li>Generous PTO and paid holidays</li> <li>Continuous Education Benefits</li> <li>Work with industry leaders</li> <li>401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)</li> <li>Flexible Work including hybrid and remote possibilities based on position.</li></ul>  Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less) EPE is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
