Thanks for your interest in joining our team! </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key statistics:</strong></p><ul> <li>950+ Consultants</li> <li>640+ Ph.D.s</li> <li>90+ Disciplines</li> <li>30+ Offices globally</li></ul><h2>Our Opportunity</h2><p>We are currently seeking a <strong>Medical Consultant (M.D./D.O.) </strong>for our <strong>Biomechanics</strong> Practice in <strong>Atlanta, GA</strong>. In this role, you will act as a subject-matter expert to advise clients on matters pertaining to injury causation and injury mechanisms by relating medical findings to trauma events and interpreting the long-term impact of injuries. You will also lead projects, identify new clients, and develop new business in the areas of injury causation and injury mechanisms. </p><h2>You will be responsible for</h2><ul> <li>Providing expert consulting on matters involving trauma, injury causation, and sequelae </li> <li>Serving as a medical reviewer on aspects of research projects in the Biomechanics Practice </li> <li>Assisting with understanding the intricacies of patients’ medical conditions and injuries</li> <li>Providing expert testimony </li> <li>Reviewing medical records and preparing comprehensive, evidence-based reports outlining opinions on causation and permanency </li> <li>Interpreting data from an overall scientific standpoint as well as within the context of the medical significance to individual patients </li> <li>Staying current with peer-reviewed medical and biomechanical literature to support opinions </li> <li>Promoting Exponent’s multidisciplinary consulting expertise and your professional reputation through activities such as publishing papers, presenting at conferences, conducting seminars, or serving on expert advisory and scientific/technical committees </li> <li>Collaborating with internal teams of engineers and scientists, as well as external stakeholders such as other subject matter experts to ensure project excellence  </li> <li>Mentoring, motivating, and developing junior staff on project teams </li></ul><h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school with a specialization in Emergency Medicine or Orthopedics</li> <li>Master of Science (M.S.) or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Biomechanics</li> <li>Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine with Board Certification in Emergency Medicine and/or Orthopedic Surgery</li> <li>10+ years of clinical practice in emergency medicine and/or orthopedic surgery (trauma or sports medicine experience is ideal)</li> <li>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate complex medical terms and concepts for laypeople, and high objectivity</li> <li>Ability and willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice</li> <li>If you have current clinical responsibilities, bandwidth to review and analyze client requests, prepare reports, and testify as an expert while meeting client-requested deadlines</li> <li>Enthusiasm to work in a team environment to provide unique clinical insights with a foundation in science and evidence-based medicine to address our clients’ challenges </li> <li>Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required  </li></ul><p> </p><p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].</em></p><h2>Life @ Exponent</h2><p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponenthttps://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p><p> </p><p>Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
