We are present in several countries in Africa and in the Americas, and are headquartered in Oslo, Norway. Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for an Operations &amp; Maintenance Asset &amp; Spares Specialist in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our O&amp;M Asset &amp; Spares Specialist, you will ensure the structured, cost-effective, and reliable management of spare parts, materials, and related services across Release’s operational power plant portfolio. You will oversee the full lifecycle of operational spares; from demand forecasting and procurement coordination to logistics, customs management, inventory governance, warranty administration, and invoice verification. Your work will directly support minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operations across multiple sites.Main responsibilities <ul> <li>Manage the end-to-end O&amp;M spares lifecycle, including strategy development, forecasting, stock level optimisation, and consumption analysis to minimise downtime and emergency procurement.</li> <li>Coordinate procurement, logistics, and customs processes, ensuring timely, compliant delivery of spare parts and services across all operational sites.</li> <li>Oversee inventory governance and site compliance, including stock tracking, audits, storage verification, and standardisation of inventory practices.</li> <li>Ensure CMMS data integrity and alignment, maintaining accurate asset registers, BOMs, and inventory records to support effective maintenance planning.</li> <li>Administer warranties, contracts, and non-conformances, including claims management, supplier performance resolution, and lessons learned reporting.</li> <li>Control invoice and work verification processes, validating supplier invoices against contracts, deliveries, and completed work to ensure financial accuracy.</li> <li>Manage OEM and supplier relationships, supporting negotiations, monitoring performance, and ensuring reliable service across diverse and remote environments.</li> <li>Support budgeting, reporting, and supply chain optimisation, including cost tracking, performance reporting, localisation strategies, and development of resilient global and local supplier networks.</li></ul>Qualifications and competencies <ul> <li>Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related technical field</li> <li>5+ years’ professional experience in operations support, asset management, procurement coordination, inventory management, or O&amp;M environments within power generation, renewable energy, or industrial infrastructure sectors.</li> <li>Proven experience managing spare parts, logistics coordination, and supplier performance.</li> <li>Practical experience with customs processes, import/export documentation, and logistics coordination across multiple countries.</li> <li>Experience verifying contracts, purchase orders, and supplier invoices within an operational environment.</li> <li>Familiarity with CMMS systems and digital inventory management tools.</li> <li>Understanding of operational environments and plant maintenance requirements. </li> <li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.</li></ul>Advantageous: <ul> <li>4+ years’ experience within renewable energy (PV and/or BESS) operational portfolios.</li> <li>Experience supporting multi-site operations across different countries and regulatory environments.</li> <li>Familiarity with warranty management and supplier non-conformance processes.</li> <li>Experience working in remote or developing market contexts.</li> <li>Knowledge of localisation strategies and regional supplier development.</li> <li>Fluency in French or additional languages relevant to operating regions.</li></ul> For the particular role we also expect<ul> <li>Strong commercial awareness, including cost control, supplier negotiation, and financial verification.</li> <li>Proven ability to manage spares lifecycle planning and inventory governance across multiple sites and operating environments.</li> <li>Highly people-oriented with strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.</li> <li>Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to work independently while driving alignment and execution across mul-tiple stakeholders.</li></ul>  Personal characteristicsIt is part of every Release employee’s terms of reference to contribute to Scatec group’s vision: Improving our Future and adhere to our company values which are:<ul> <li>Predictable: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, shares information in an open and honest way.</li> <li>Driving results: demonstrate determination, pro-activeness, can prioritise and work independently.</li> <li>Changemaker: demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiates and adjust.</li> <li>Working together: demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitude.</li></ul> We offerRelease, is an exciting, innovative and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
