The Senior Quality Inspector works closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.   <h2>Responsibilities: </h2><ul><li>Performs and leads receiving, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components, subassemblies, and finished goods. </li><li>Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, IPC-A-610/620 standards, and contractual specifications. </li><li>Document inspection results accurately and maintain traceable records in accordance with QMS procedures and AS9100 requirements. </li><li>Identify and document nonconformances; provide recommendations to support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation. </li><li>Support and perform first article inspections (FAIs) per internal and AS9102 requirements. </li><li>Coordinate inspections to meet stakeholder needs and due dates based on priority. </li><li>Collaborate with manufacturing, warehouse, and engineering to resolve quality issues and improve processes. </li><li>Maintain calibration of inspection tools and ensure proper use of measurement equipment. </li><li>Participate in internal audits, continuous improvement projects, and customer source inspections as required. </li><li>Provide technical mentorship and on-the-job training to new and junior inspectors, support standardization and best practices. </li></ul> <h2>Basic Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certification in quality inspection or metrology preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or defense/aerospace inspection or similar role with an Associate’s degree or higher (or 4 years of relevant experience without an Associate’s degree). </li><li>Solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical inspection techniques. </li><li>Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&amp;T, and specifications. </li><li>Proficiency using standard inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMMs, optical comparators, etc.). </li><li>Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, MIL-SPEC and IPC-610/620 requirements. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic quality data entry systems.  </li></ul> <h2>Preferred Skills and Experience:</h2> <ul><li>Associate degree or certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience performing AS9102 First Article Inspections. </li></ul><ul><li>Working knowledge of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or 3D scanning equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Certification or training to IPC-A-610/620 and/or J-STD-001. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments. </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. </li></ul><ul><li>Effective communication and teamwork skills across multiple departments. </li></ul>   ITAR REQUIREMENTS:  To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.   At Epirus, you’ll work with technical peers and great people—and get first crack at some of the defining technology challenges of our time.
