About the OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety &amp; Environment (HSE) Advisor who is passionate about building strong safety cultures and driving continuous improvement.Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will partner closely with site leadership to provide specialist advice, practical tools, training and governance oversight to support the effective implementation of health, safety and environmental systems. You will play a key role in promoting wellbeing and resilience, ensuring our people return home safe every day and that the site meets its legal and ethical obligations.You will also act as a critical link between the site and the wider divisional HSE function, championing the implementation and embedding of Group HSE standards, systems, inspections and audits. This role has a strong hands-on component, leading incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions, while supporting leaders to lift capability and accountability across the site.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Implement, maintain and continuously improve site HSE management systems, ensuring alignment with group standards and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Partner with the Business Unit Manager and site leadership team to embed a strong, proactive safety culture focused on engagement, wellbeing and resilience.</li><li>Act as a visible safety leader on site, promoting best-practice HSE behaviours and outcomes at all levels of the operation.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, standards and company requirements.</li><li>Lead and support incident, injury and near-miss management, including investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions and follow-up.</li><li>Support environmental management activities, including audits, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Coordinate and support the site H&amp;S Committee, inductions, training, audits and HSE reporting.</li><li>Guide and coach leaders and teams to ensure HSE systems, procedures and expectations are clearly communicated, understood and consistently applied.</li><li>Support contractor and visitor safety through effective contractor management, induction and compliance processes.</li></ul>Skills and Experience<ul><li>Certificate in Workplace Health &amp; Safety (Level 4) or equivalent.</li><li>At least 3 years’ experience in a dedicated health and safety role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, principles and best practice.</li><li>Experience implementing and maintaining HSE management systems and supporting audits and accreditation processes.</li><li>Confidence in incident investigation, risk assessment and corrective action management.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach and build effective working relationships.</li><li>Well-developed organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.</li><li>Competence in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and system management.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Leadership or advisory experience within a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Exposure to environmental management systems and continuous improvement frameworks.</li></ul>
