Technical Presales Manager BESS – Netherlands (d/f/m)

Your mission Position, Location, Department Full-time | Netherlands | Technical Europe  Position Summary The Technical Presales Manager BESS is responsible for providing technical pre-sales support for energy storage system solutions across the region. The role supports Sales teams by delivering technical expertise, solution design, bid support, and customer-facing presentations for utility-scale and C&amp;I BESS projects. In addition, the role contributes to product management activities by supporting product certifications, monitoring market and technology developments, and ensuring technical compatibility of energy storage solutions within the European market environment.  Reporting Line Reports to the Head of Technical Europe  Major Responsibilities Technical Presales Support <ul><li>Provide technical pre-sales support for BESS products, including customer communication, technical clarification, and solution presentations in collaboration with Sales</li><li>Design and configure BESS solutions, including product selection, system sizing, technical preparation, yield simulations, and cost-related inputs for quotations</li><li>Participate in tender and bidding processes; prepare and review technical bid documents</li><li>Support technical contract negotiations and drafting of technical specifications and technical agreements for BESS projects</li><li>Provide daily technical support to customers and internal Sales teams on ESS product and system-related topics</li><li>Support technical evaluations of customer requirements, grid standards, and project feasibility</li><li>Act as a technical interface between Sales, HQ technical teams, and customers to ensure accurate and timely technical communication</li><li>Deliver internal and external technical training sessions for BESS products and solutions, including system simulations and technical presentations</li><li>Represent the company in technical meetings, customer discussions, and project-related communications asrequired</li><li>Perform additional technical tasks or project support as assigned by leadership</li></ul>Product Management <ul><li>Support product certification activities in relevant European markets, including coordination of technical documentation and compliance requirements</li><li>Monitor customer requirements, market developments, and technology trends related to energy storage systems and provide structured feedback to product management and leadership</li><li>Collaborate withcomponentmanufacturers and internal teams to ensure compatibility of BESS systems with external components and system interfaces</li><li>Maintain awareness of competitor products, product roadmaps, and technical developments to support product positioning and technical decision-making</li><li>Represent the company in technical product presentations, webinars, trade shows, and industry events asrequired</li><li>Support the continuous improvement of technical documentation, solution templates, and product-related processes</li></ul>Performance Indicators <ul><li>Bid win support rate / technical contribution to successful tenders</li><li>Turnaround time for technical proposals and configurations</li><li>Number and quality of technical trainings delivered</li><li>Reduction in technical clarification cycles or bid revisions</li><li>Technical accuracy and compliance of system configurations and documentation</li><li>Stakeholder feedback from Sales and customers</li><li>Customer satisfaction with technical support and solution quality</li></ul> Your profile Required Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Physics, Power Systems, or a related technical field</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in the PV and/or energy storage industry</li><li>Proven experience in BESS technical support, system design, or pre-sales engineering</li><li>Strong understanding of energy storage systems, grid requirements, and customer technical expectations</li><li>Experience supporting utility-scale or commercial energy storage projects is strongly preferred</li><li>Fluency in English is required</li><li>Dutch language proficiency is strongly preferred and Chinese is an advantage</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies <ul><li>Strong technical expertise in energy storage systems and solution design</li><li>Ability to translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills, including delivery of technical trainings and customer presentations</li><li>Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused working style</li><li>Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment</li><li>Good understanding of system integration and technical compatibility requirements</li></ul>Travel Requirement <ul><li>Regular travel across the Netherlands asrequired</li><li>Occasional travel within Europe</li><li>Availability for customer site visits, technical trainings, and industry events</li></ul>
