The technician will work closely with laboratory managers and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of laboratory functions.Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities Sample Preparation <ul><li>Prepare environmental samples from the field for analysis in accordance with standard operating procedures. </li><li>Receive, log, and label samples (water, soil, and chemical materials) according to laboratory protocols. </li><li>Handle, label, and store samples accurately to prevent contamination or degradation. </li></ul>Testing &amp; Analysis <ul><li>Conduct routine laboratory tests such as ecotoxicity testing, chemical analyses, or biological assays, adhering to all safety and quality protocols. </li><li>Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including pH meters, chlorine meter, DO meter, and analytical balances. </li><li>Record data from laboratory tests and assist in interpreting the results for statistical reports. </li></ul>Data Recording &amp; Documentation <ul><li>Accurately record test results, observations, and sample information in both physical and electronic formats. </li><li>Assist in generating reports for internal review and external clients. </li><li>Ensure data integrity through proper documentation and by following all lab protocols. </li></ul>Quality Control &amp; Safety <ul><li>Conduct regular quality control checks on samples, reagents, and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental standards. </li><li>Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure the proper disposal of reagents and sample materials. </li><li>Adhere to safety guidelines and participate in safety training sessions. </li></ul>Collaborative Support <ul><li>Work in coordination with environmental scientists and other lab personnel to support ongoing projects. </li><li>Participate in team meetings to discuss results, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical expertise. </li></ul>Requirements Minimum Qualifications: <ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field. </li><li>Experience: None, entry-level</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field. </li><li>Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in an environmental testing laboratory and certification in laboratory safety or environmental testing protocols. </li></ul>Desired Skills: <ul><li>Strong attention to detail, particularly in documenting data and following protocols. </li><li>Familiarity with common laboratory procedures and equipment. </li><li>Proficiency in data entry. </li><li>Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the laboratory setting. </li><li>Strong ability to follow protocols and maintain accurate records in a high-stakes environment. </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot equipment or experimental issues with minimal supervision. </li><li>Proficiency with laboratory software, data analysis tools, and a range of scientific instrumentation. </li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with teams and document findings. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced laboratory environment, meeting deadlines for multiple projects. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with management and lab personnel on diverse projects. </li></ul>Work Environment We need to recruit a special type of candidate.
