This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel, and will ideally be based in Scottsdale, Arizona (with a hybrid in-office policy), but remote candidates will also be considered (other than residents of California or New York).Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Draft, negotiate, and manage:</li><ul><li>Engineering, procurement and construction agreements</li><li>Equipment supply and other procurement-related agreements</li><li>Operations and maintenance agreements</li><li>Master services agreements, and other services agreements in connection with the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy power plants</li><li>Non-disclosure agreements</li></ul><li>Advise management on business transactions involving customers, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.</li><li>Proactively manage both upstream and downstream risk across multiple contracts and projects.</li><li>Assist and/or represent the company in contract negotiations with all business partners.</li><li>Advise the company on claims and disputes with subcontractors, suppliers, and other business partners.</li><li>Participate in the resolution of complex and sensitive legal issues.</li><li>Manage outside legal counsel and consultants.</li><li>Conduct training classes for company personnel, as needed.</li><li>Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Juris doctor from an accredited law school.</li><li>Active license to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction.</li><li>A minimum of two years of legal experience is required.</li><li>Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts such as engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, capital equipment procurement agreements, or power purchase agreements.</li><li>Demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills, sound judgment, and an ability to fulfill leadership responsibilities assigned; an ownership approach to projects and tasks is critical.</li><li>Strong understanding of the laws in areas of expertise and proficient in their interpretation and application.</li><li>Experience managing commercial disputes.</li><li>Possess effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.</li><li>Must be able to handle heavy workload, critical time constraints, multiple project responsibilities and continually changing priorities.</li><li>Some travel may be required.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Four or more years of legal experience.</li><li>Experience in renewable energy industry.</li><li>Direct experience drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction agreements.</li><li>Located in, or willing to relocate to, the Phoenix/Scottsdale metropolitan area.</li><li>This position is not eligible to be performed in California and is not open to candidates residing in California. </li></ul>Why Join Arevon?
