We are present on four continents and are headquartered in Oslo, Norway. Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for an Electrician in Kenhardt, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.  As our Electrician you will perform Electrical work on the Solar PV Plant that will include Modification, Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment and Systems as well as switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level.  Main responsibilities<ul> <li>Perform modification, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of all plant electrical equipment and systems</li> <li>Execute switching, isolation, safety testing, earthing, and LOTO activities in line with ORHVS and PSR authorisation levels</li> <li>Conduct OEM-specific preventative and corrective maintenance on BESS, PV systems, and associated electrical equipment</li> <li>Maintain and monitor BESS systems, including coordination with maintenance contractors and adherence to contractual requirements</li> <li>Interpret schematics, perform inspections, identify defects, and implement corrective actions to ensure equipment reliability</li> <li>Complete safety documentation and ensure full compliance with HSSE standards and site procedures</li> <li>Capture and report maintenance activities on CMMS, support audits, and contribute to SOP and process improvements</li></ul> Qualifications and competencies <ul> <li>N3 Qualification</li> <li>Qualified Electrician and ORHVS qualification</li> <li>Registered 3 phase installation electrician (SANS 10142); not single-phase tester</li> <li>Computer literate – Excel &amp; Word</li> <li>5+ years Electrical experience – AC &amp; DC electrical systems</li> <li>Proven experience on MV &amp; HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance</li> <li>Ability to take ownership of electrical systems on the plant</li> <li>High Voltage Switching and Solar PV Plant experience</li> <li>Maintain Transformers and Switchgear and Assist with reporting and perform various HSE related inspections</li> <li>Experience with HV Switching, Solar PV Plant &amp; BESS</li> <li>Technical Support and Reports</li> <li>Operating System and Process Control</li> <li>Non-conformances and claims management</li> <li>Fluent both written and spoken in English</li></ul>Personal characteristicsIt is part of every employees’ terms of reference to contribute to Scatec's vision: Improving our Future and adhere to our company values which are:<ul> <li>Predictable: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, shares information in an open and honest way</li> <li>Driving results: demonstrate determination, pro-activeness, can prioritise and work independently</li> <li>Changemaker: demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiates and adjust</li> <li>Working together: demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitude</li></ul>For the particular role we also expect<ul> <li>Required to work in rotating working schedule and perform standby services as per site requirements including weekends and public holidays</li> <li>Be able to stand-in for Technical Manager</li> <li>Must be available to travel as and when required</li> <li>Valid drivers’ license </li></ul>We offerScatec is an exciting, innovative and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
