The candidate must be adept at the following: <ul><li>Designing, documenting, testing and debugging embedded systems (hardware and firmware) as part of the product development process using standard lab equipment and tools.</li><li>Performing analog and digital circuit design (op-amps, filters, signal conditioning).</li><li>Coding embedded firmware in C/C++.</li><li>Interfacing with other departments, such as Production, Procurement and Customer Support, to answer technical questions, support existing products, and troubleshoot identified problems.</li><li>Analyzing data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.</li><li>Learning new technologies to grow our product offering.</li></ul> Required Skills and Experience<ul><li>Three to five years of experience in the design/development/test of embedded systems.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.</li><li>Ability to collaborate with others and work in a team-based environment.</li><li>Flexibility to learn new skills and take on new tasks, including areas outside core area of expertise.</li><li>Effective oral communications with strong technical writing skills.</li></ul> EducationCandidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise<ul><li>High-speed design basics (signal integrity, EMI/EMC considerations).</li><li>Component selection, derating, and BOM creation.</li><li>Schematic capture using Altium or similar tools.</li><li>RTOS coding.</li><li>Bare-metal programming on MCUs (ARM Cortex-M, AVR, PIC, etc.)</li><li>Peripheral drivers (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB).</li><li>Bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms.</li><li>Low-power firmware design and optimization.</li><li>Knowledge of communication protocols and system integration.</li><li>Version control using Git.</li><li>Build systems and toolchains (Make, CMake, GCC, etc.).</li><li>Documentation practices (schematics, design docs, firmware architecture)</li><li>Familiarity with safety, reliability, and regulatory considerations.</li><li>Oxygen patch operation and behavior.</li><li>Design for Manufacturing (DFM) techniques.</li><li>Registered with Engineers NS as an EIT or Professional Engineer.</li></ul> About Innovasea Fueled by leading-edge technology and a passion for research and development, <a href="http://www.innovasea.com/">Innovasea</a> is revolutionizing aquaculture and advancing the science of fish tracking to make our oceans and freshwater ecosystems sustainable for future generations.
