Transdev has been selected to operate the largest autonomous vehicle public transit project in the U.S. In partnership with BEEP and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), this groundbreaking fixed-route AV service will seamlessly integrate into Jacksonville’s public transit network. As the operator, Transdev will manage commercial driving services, depot operations, vehicle recovery, and fleet maintenance.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Manager to lead this initiative. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, ensuring safety, efficiency, and performance excellence. You will manage a team of supervisors and drivers while serving as the primary liaison between Transdev, JTA, and BEEP, driving collaboration and operational success.

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $80,000 – maximum $120,000

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee and provide leadership for the AV operation, ensuring efficient and safe service delivery.
  • Manage supervisors and drivers, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between JTA, Beep, and Transdev, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, both inside and outside of the vehicle.
  • Demonstrate situational awareness and adaptability to changing environments and evolving technology.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety, inclusion, and employee engagement in all aspects of operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, clients, and the local community.
  • Encourage employee feedback and implement viable suggestions in alignment with company objectives.
  • Motivate and lead teams by fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment with a strong safety-first mindset.
  • Provide guidance and support to department managers, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to operational challenges and opportunities for growth.
  • Work with corporate support teams to optimize the delivery of essential support services.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with client contracts and company policies.
  • Develop and manage the operational budget, optimizing resources for efficiency and sustainability.
  • Oversee hiring decisions, terminations, promotions, and new hires to ensure a strong and effective team.
  • Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and staffing for the management team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation or related field required. 
  • 5 or more years of relevant management and leadership experience required.
  • Experience in tech, start-up, and/or AV industry is strongly preferred. 
  • Strong background in transportation and/or logistics is highly preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of basic federal and state employment laws.
  • Basic working knowledge of laws, ordinances and regulations pertaining to motor vehicle operations.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with clients, employees, and support departments.
  • Remain flexible and agile for changing business needs and/or projects.
  • Experience managing a P/L, including forecasting & budgeting 
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or GSuite programs and the ability to manage and manipulate data in spreadsheets. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details; analytical ability.
  • Ability to see around corners thinking about both the big picture and individual needs.
  • Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership, and delivering results.
  • Ability to build solid  relationships and influence others while working in a cross functional environment, including senior members of the business.
  • Must have a strong ability to adapt well to rapidly changing environments with ambiguous direction, and dynamic strategies.
  • Travel requirement outside of the immediate area (10%-25%).
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting
  • Use hands to finger; handle, or feel; and talk or hear; 
  • Must use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Most work is accomplished indoors; and
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screening
  • Transdev maintains a Drug Free Workplace and may require participation in a random drug screening program.
