About this opportunity
This highly visible senior leadership opportunity will ensure that manufacturing and packaging are performed in accordance with the Quality Management System as well as supporting the General Manager as required, this will also include ensuring the safe operation of the plant with a focus on producing quality products to our customers specifications.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Set responsibilities, goals, and objectives for all Manufacturing staff
- Operate the plant facility in compliance with all safety, quality and environmental standards as directed by Company policies, state and federal regulations
- Develop and promote a sound safety attitude among all supervised personnel and assure that all are provided with the proper training to perform their tasks in a safe environment
- Ensure that the plant is operated in a manner that produces a quality product that matches our customers’ needs
- Propose and implement proper Manufacturing structure to accomplish goals
- Develop production plans and implements accordingly
- Manage all production contractors and monitor, reduce, and controls costs
- Improve injury management performance over time
- Ensure all known risks are factored into the production plan and engage appropriate internal stakeholders
- Drive cultural change, - behaviour and performance across the Manufacturing site
- Ensure performance assessment and training matrix is implemented for production floor staff
- Enterprise Agreement is negotiated successfully supporting the drive for improved productivity
- Develop and implement process control systems to automate and optimize production processes.
- Oversee commissioning and startup of new process units, ensuring seamless integration into existing production systems.
- Ensure plant is continuously delivering reliable and efficient operational results
- Ensure effective performance of local procurement, warehousing and distribution of finished goods
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Solid tenure operating at senior plant management level
- Must have had experience implementing and leading change initiatives
- Solid understanding and experience with implementation of LEAN and continuous improvement
- Experience negotiating Enterprise Agreements and resolving a range of employee grievance and dispute matters
- Proven people leadership and change management experience with a collaborative and enabling approach
- Solid understanding and controls management of all types of risk
- Demonstrated Safety leadership and driving cultural change
