Industrial Labourer

GFL is Hiring for the Ottawa facility

Working under the supervision of our Supervisors, our Labourer’s will assist our Industrial/hydro excavation crews, completing various industrial projects (tank cleaning, vacuuming projects, daylighting of underground utilities for various project sites.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning and preparing project sites
• Loading/Unloading and setting up of project equipment (hoses, pumping tubes, waterlines, etc.)
• Digging trenches followed by backfilling, and compacting of excavations
• Assisting with the operations of various equipment and tools
• Secure work area and set up traffic control
• Other duties as required
• Flexibility to work- out-of-town supporting our customers or other GFL BU’s.

               

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• High school diploma or relevant experience
• Must be clean shaven (when required project related)
• Must have a G license at minimum
• Available Monday-Friday (for a day shift) and on-call on weekends every 4th weekend
• Good verbal communication skills and able to work in TEAM environment
• Must be able to safely 50 lbs.
• Commitment to health and safety
• Ability to follow instructions
