Who We Are Looking For 
Phoenix Tailings is seeking a bold, strategic thinker for the 2nd cohort of our Leadership Development Program (LDP), with a focus on Business Development. This is a role for someone who wants to be on the front lines of scaling a clean tech startup, closing high-impact partnerships, and shaping the commercial strategy of the first fully clean metals production company in the world. This program is intense and immersive—ideal for someone who thrives on uncertainty, owns outcomes, and is ready to play a key role in building the clean industrial economy of the future. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and help close high-value strategic partnerships across the clean energy, automotive, and defense sectors 
  • Drive new market analysis and assess opportunities for Phoenix Tailings’ clean metals across a range of industries 
  • Own customer outreach and relationship-building with key players in critical materials and sustainable manufacturing 
  • Develop and refine value propositions and commercial models for Phoenix’s unique zero-waste refining technologies 
  • Prepare proposals, pitch decks, and financial models to support fundraising and revenue-generating activities 
  • Track and report on industry trends, policy shifts, and supply chain developments that affect strategic decisions 
  • Support contract development and deal execution with legal, operations, and leadership teams 
  • Build and manage CRM data and prospect pipelines to ensure visibility and momentum across commercial efforts 
  • Rapidly respond to business-critical situations, whether it’s closing a supply agreement or pivoting strategy based on new legislation 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field 
  • 0–2 years of experience in business development, strategy, finance, consulting, or startups 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong research and analysis skills with an ability to translate market data into actionable insights 
  • Self-starter mentality with a relentless focus on execution and delivering results under pressure 
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and creating structure where none exists 
  • Willingness to work long hours, adapt to urgent priorities, and embrace the fast pace of a scaling startup 
  • Passion for clean technology, sustainability, and building foundational infrastructure for the modern world 
  • Must be able to start on June 2nd
