Job Brief: This role will be responsible for ensuring the correct US GAAP and IFRS accounting treatment for all lease agreements (real estate, operating and finance). They will also be responsible for ensuring that we maximise the potential from our existing underlying systems (Oracle, CoStar and BlackLine) and consistently evolve to embrace new technology. In addition, the role will be responsible for ensuring all processes are in adherence to AECOM policy and procedures and compliant with relevant SOX narratives and controls. This role will report into the ‘Manager, Lease Accounting - GBS’.Responsibilities &amp; Duties Lease Management, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting<ul><li>Ensure close process and reconciliations for leases are completed on a timely basis.</li><li>Preparation of complex monthly reconciliations and journal entries to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements.</li><li>Pre-review of abstracted financial data for new, modified and existing leases in Co-Star.</li><li>Pre-review of amortisation schedules created in Co-Star.</li><li>Pre-review of standard journals to record asset &amp; liability adjustments from Co-Star amortisation schedule.</li><li>Pre-review sundry invoices for sublease income.</li><li>Pre-review listing of all leases for corporate filing requirements.</li><li>Preparation of complex other real estate related cost entries (e.g. service charges, utilities, business rates, dilapidations).</li><li>Pre-review quarterly gross-up for Equipment asset &amp; liability adjustments.</li></ul> Auditing and Compliance Monitoring<ul><li>Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with relevant local regulatory requirements.</li><li>Ensure compliance with lease related SOX narratives and control documentation.</li><li>Participate in self-testing program to proactively identify and remediate control gaps before audits.</li></ul> Continuous Improvement<ul><li>Identify and implement changes that generate efficiencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.</li><li>Ensure existing systems (Oracle, CoStar, BlackLine) are optimised and identify new technology opportunities.</li><li>Deliver on internal KPI’s and customer focused SLA’s to deliver a best in class leases accounting service</li></ul> <ul><li>Deliver on internal KPI’s and customer focused SLA’s to deliver a best in class leases accounting service</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; RequirementsMinimum Requirements:<ul><li>CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.</li><li>Minimum 3 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years of Leases experience and 1 year in a global organisation. </li><li>Experience in operational compliance in shared services.</li><li>Strong communication (English language), and stakeholder management skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrated success in cross-cultural, virtual team environments. </li></ul>  Attributes:  <ul><li>Ability to obtain information and identify key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-term goal or vision (Strategic Decision Making)</li><li>Ability to understand various business scenarios and make sound decisions by combining relevant factors to arrive at the best outcome (Business Acumen)</li><li>Ability to drive to create experiences and opportunities that will lead to innovation.
